(Daniel^7, Daniel^6 Van Vickle, Sr., Evert^5 Van Wicklen, Frederick^4, Evert^3, Gerrit^2, Jentie^1 Jeppes), b. 26 September 1857, Pickaway Co., Ohio and d. 15 July 1900 of pnemonia in Amanda, Ohio. She married Samuel Smith (b. 10 February 1855, Ashville, Ohio, d. 6 January 1822, Circleville, Ohio. Samuel is s/o John M. Smith. After Nancy's death in 1900, Samuel married (2) Louisa Bell McHarg (b. 24 February 1857, d. 26 May 1937 in Perry Co., OH) on 25 December 1903.

Notes for Samuel Smith:
Samuel was a farmer and a blacksmith. Nancy died of pnemonia in 1900. He remarried a woman named Louisa McHarg. (1900 census in Lancaster Library; death records 1867-1909). Samuel inherited the 66.62 acres that his father Henry S. Smith owned located on Ridge Rd., Amanda, Ohio. This is Twp. 13, Range 20, Section 28. This was owned by his father John M. Smith, and was owned before him by Martin Smith. When Samuel died, Noah Smith purchased from Louisa. It stayed in the family until 1938, when Noah sold it at public auction to Charles and Maude Christy. See

Samuel and Nancy, Henry and Rebecca, Franklin, Henry, and infants are buried in Forest Cemetery, 905 N. Court St., Circleville, OH. Louisa Belle Smith is buried at Forest Rose Cemetery in Lancaster, OH. Samuel died of organic heart disease. Noah was listed as a blacksmith, Gilbert was listed as a public school teacher. Vernon was head of the utility department in Lancaster for many years.

He married Alice Celina Kinser (b. 10 June 1880, Amanda, OH; d. 25 March 1964, Lancaster, OH) 11 October 1900; Gilbert^9 Smith, b. 22 July 1879, Amanda, Ohio and d. 14 September 1934, Stoutsville, OH. He married Jennie Florence Christy (b. 2 April 1887, Fairfield Co., OH, died 23 June 1968, Stoutsville, OH) in June 1906; Henry^9 Smith, b. 1 June 1883, Amanda, Ohio and d. 25 June 1904, Circleville, OH (died in infancy); Rose^9 Estella Smith, b. 30 April 1885, Amanda, Ohio and d. 1 March 1923, Lancaster, OH. She married Grant C. Williamson (b. 15 April 1885, Fairfield Co., OH and d. 3 June 1974); Alma^9 B. Smith, b. 26 June 1887, Amanda, Ohio and d. 3 August 1944, Lancaster, OH. She married (1) Carton Raymond Williamson (b. 2 September 1886, Fairfield Co., OH and d. 17 September 1938, Fairfield Co., OH. She married (2) James Atchinson Patrick (b. 9 December 1877, Queenstown, Ont, Can and d. unknown) on 1 November 1938; Samuel^9 Maxwell Smith, b. 8 February 1890, Amanda, Ohio and d. 22 September 1890, Amanda, OH (died in infancy); Vernon^9 Vanvickle Smith, b. 19 December 1891, Amanda, Ohio and d. 7 November 1975, Lancaster, OH. He married Donna Mae Puffinbarger (b. 3 November 1894, Pickaway Co., OH and d. 15 April 1983, Lancaster, OH) on 18 September 1916.

Notes for Vernon VanVickle Smith:
Vernon graduated from Ohio University in Athens, OH. He was a teacher and also a principal. Also worked on the railroad. He was later associated with brother Noah and sold automobiles (Willys Knights, Terraplanes, and Hudsons). Worked for the City of Lancaster and was superintendent for the Utility Department (about 40 years). He was an avid bee keeper and once ran for mayor of Lancaster, OH.
